For example, potatoes were first brought to Europe by Spanish explorers in the 16th century; they became popular in Germany during this time period as well.

Furthermore, beer is part of German tradition–there are around 2500 breweries throughout all parts of this central European nation (and they produce over 5 billion liters per year).

Spain

Spanish food is rich and diverse, with tapas being a great way to sample a lot of different foods. Paella is a popular dish that combines seafood and meat with rice. The Spanish love their wine, so be sure to try some if you get the chance!
